This is amazing. When I saw the first picture, I wondered how those flags stayed up in the air! :-) I've not seen anything like this. So colorful and the action must have been quite dramatic. Beautiful photographs, Karl!
The flag wavers appear to be highly skilled at this performance art. What a colorful pageant it makes, and you caught the flags at just the right moment. Well done.
Wow! This would have been great fun to see. The colorful flags reminded me that we are thinking about going to Siena next August for Palio. I was there a few years ago after Palio and the colorful banners were dazzling. But no one threw them . . .

ReplyDeleteThis is something I got to see first hand when I was in Italy. We saw a group in Cortona and it was amazing. What a beautiful event!
