These are all glorious photos but the 2nd one really stands out. What's this about a birthday? Just in case, I wish you a fantastical time on your birthday! Is there anything different about an alpine rose say, from a Roman rose? I'd guess an alpine nose would be a little redder than a Roman nose, but I'm not sure! :))
It is so lovely to see theseRhododendron ferrugineum in the wild. Always a wonderful surprise when one is high in the Alps.
