I think it's particularly fascinating how this form art can fool the eye into thinking something is there that's not--like the coined corners on that building.
Absolutely delightful! The colors and the subject matter are very inviting and I'm sure attract many people every day.
We watched the movie, "The American," the other night which stars George Clooney as an assassin. Much of it took place in Italy, in an area that reminded me a lot of the area in which you live.
I love it when you show us these wall paintings. The trompe l'oeil effects are very convincing. Such a lovely tradition. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
Wonderful paintings, Karl. They even gave dimension to the figures by painting shadows. Is this a one-of-a-kind building, or is it common in this area? I love it!
It makes a beautiful enhance to the building.
ReplyDeleteOutstanding painted buildings. That is a lovely tradition of your area.
ReplyDeleteIt is good to catch up with your photos after we were away for several weeks in South America (Galapagos and Peru).
A wonderful 3D shadow effect.

ReplyDeleteVery old fashioned, and very European! Lovely!
ReplyDeleteThat is an incredible facade!
ReplyDeleteVery impressive.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful details on that facade. With the shadows I can see that they are three dimensional.
