This modern UFO-like structure is located on the Timmelsjoch / Passo del Rombo. (2,509 m asl)
Inside you can see a photo exhibition about the construction of the interesting mountain road which connects the Ötztal Valley in the Austrian state of Tyrol to the Passeier Valley in the Italian province of South Tyrol.

What a fantastic installation!
ReplyDeleteLooks like an architectural student's assignment in cantilevering. I like it. I'd love to see it in the snow.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a really cool structure! I love this kind of architecture.
ReplyDeleteIt actually reminds me of a ventilation shaft on a modern school near me.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! Any idea of who the artist is?
ReplyDeleteYes, the artist is the architect Werner Tscholl.
DeleteThank you for that information :)
DeleteWow, that would stop me in my tracks. What an unusual and sleek building. I like your UFO reference because it dose look like it just landed there.
ReplyDeleteNot exactly beautiful, but certainly surprising and daring!
ReplyDeleteThat is a very strange concept!
ReplyDeleteA bold piece of art that seems to be rather adept at handling a balancing act.
ReplyDeleteThis is terrifying, Karl. I can't imagine entering that structure. It looks ready to topple!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Mr. Kendall. Very strange. I'd like to visit and have a look inside but it doesn't look too stable (although I'm sure it is.) Wonder what was going through the architect's head?
ReplyDeleteI appreciate the amazingness :) of this work Karl, it does look incredible sitting way up there, but like Jack there is no way I would be able to enter!
