The Lederhose
The "Schuhplattler" folk dance group of Kaltern/Caldaro in a steet performance in the village of Neumarkt/Egna during the "Laubenfest 2014".
The Schuhplattler is a traditional folk dance popular in the Alpine regions of Bavaria, Austria and South Tyrol.
I have never seen this dance 'live': I am sure it would be fun!
ReplyDeleteFesche Lederhosen!
ReplyDeleteThose musicians are doing a whale of a job, too. :-)
ReplyDeleteYou have to have nice legs to wear such short lederhosen. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a nice series of "action" shots, Karl. Very colorful and looks like great fun. I think one would have to be strong in order to participate, though. And I like the shorts. Maybe I could buy a pair to wear on the golf course?
ReplyDeleteThanks very much for your comment on L&L Photography!
Looks like a little acrobatics go into that dance routine.
ReplyDeleteLovely leather pants :)
ReplyDeleteAnd the dance looks very fun.
Looks like so much fun Karl.. those lederhose could do with being a wee bit longer :)
ReplyDeleteQuite a performance, Karl!
ReplyDeleteI have never paid much attention to those "belts" and they are so unique. Thank you, Karl, for showing them. Great series.
ReplyDeleteThey look like they are having a fun time! Interesting costumes too.
ReplyDeleteThis dancing is a lot more physical than other forms of dance, with those lifts.
ReplyDeleteI think I would look great in lederhose. Not.
Clearly a summer tradition. Fun!
