Medieval Games - The Location

Exactly a week ago I went to Schluderns to participate in the Medieval Games.
Of course as a spectator and not as a player.

The event was held in a beautiful meadow near the village, in the historic atmosphere of the Churburg (castle), the ruins Lichtenberg and Fürstenburg and the Marienberg monastery.

Here a few photos of the Location, more photos of this event follow tomorrow...

  1. Your pictures are so fascinating because here we would never see such things. Someday, somewhere, I hope to see a medieval festival in person.

The skull, pens, and miniature catapult toys are amazing.

  2. We are in the midst of having reenactments of the War of 1812 - a far cry from Medieval!
and I have posted a pre-roasted pig who is complete ignorance of what may come...

  4. Looks like a wonderful event. You have caught the pageantry and look of Medieval times. Like the look of roasting pig and chickens.

  5. What a perfect setting for the medieval games Karl, so beautifully documented for us here. and it fits in perfectly with today's theme of 'people watching'.

  7. This looks like a very authentic event. All the weapons struck me. We humans have been fighting and killing each other for a very, very long time.

  8. What a shame that you weren't participating Karl! I would have liked to have seen you dressed up in all that armour. Looks like a great event.

  9. It's an incredible site and sight! I wonder where all these artifacts come from...are they for sale? You could spend a long time going through these various stalls and tents.
