Strange how the ivy is a sign of the decay it covers - and also a sign of new life!

Both beauty and the beauty of decay combined. Very effective.

That wall looks very old but that vine is doing a great job of adding beauty.

Decay, beauty and a lot of contrasts here...

Excellent post, Karl. I love the way the old stone building peeks through the green...as if to say, "Hey, I'm still here and hanging on!"

I always wonder about places like these, who lived or toiled there...

So much life, and beautiful life indeed, amidst the decay! They exist comfortably side by side.

Anything made with stones will always be beautiful.

I wonder when these hanging plants not dry out ever.
Lovely valley.

Somehow this looks too living and not so much dying to my eye. Beautiful.

A lot more beauty than decay here, Karl.

You’ve made a great Theme Day post. I'm glad you picked these for today.

I realise that ivy is very destructive to walls and buildings ... but it is sooo attractive when it climbs and when it hangs. I agree with Dina that there is no such thing as an ugly stone wall. This is very beautiful in my eyes.

Thank you for your contribution to our Theme Day.

Wonderful! Nature is now in control.

Even though its probably the ivy that's causing the decay, it always looks so fantastic covering a wall. Beautiful images Katl.
