Witches in Kastelruth / Castelrotto.
Among the best known residents of the Schlern area undoubtedly are included the Schlern witches. The legend says they regularly gather on the majestic mountain, conjure bad storms and cause other magical mischief and damage.

Those witches have been causing trouble since Shakespeare's time.

You have provided us with some nice witch pictures. I see that your witches are not such good ones. The problem is determining which witches are nice witches and which witches are bad witches. I shall investigate and if I find which witches are good I'll send you some on a new broom to fend off which witches are bad.
The first one doesn't look so bad! I have a little kitchen witch hanging over my sink for good luck.
I usually do not like witches, but yours are very funny!
That first one's particularly marvelous. The third one reminds me of a store sign here.
I don't mind these kinds of witches. :)
Do you know the book Die Kleine Hexe?
Yes, I do.
I knew it wasn't climate change. Lets blame it on the witches. That makes more sense.
I like your second witch, with the black cat on her back.
In the town where I grew up, witches were a subject of active interest. In the 1600s, some young girls accused women of being witches, and trials were held. The women were convicted and hanged. It has become both an embarrassment and a tourist attraction at the same time.
Wonderful collection of witches!
