The letter you see in your wonderfully graphic photo depends on where you stand. From here I vote for a Z. At first glance I thought this was a b&w, but no, I see it isn't. I agree about having it printed and hung on a wall.

I'd say Z. I remember hearing the reason why some fences are like this before, but I can't recall at the moment.
