Lilacs

Lilacs in the Gardena Valley - May 2011.

We have here many lilac bushes around, but I heard, Rochester, N.Y. should be undoubtedly the Lilac Capital of the World. Is that true?

Bello impossibile

bello impossibile
(impossibly beautiful)

The city of Bolzano is not free from people who like writing on the walls. This guy here was certainly inspired from Gianna Nannini's song "Bello e impossibile" (beautiful and impossible), the main song of her album "Profumo" of the year 1986.

Gianna Nannini was born 1956 in Siena and is always one of the most popular Italian singers. If you would like to see Gianna Nannini life in concert, today night she is here in Bolzano with her new show.

Bolzano celebrates the beatification of Pope John Paul II

Pope John Paul II on the Piazza Walter/Waltherplatz in Bolzano/Bozen.

To celebrate the recent beatification, some members of the group of artists UNIKA carved a wooden sculpture of Pope John Paul II. This oversized sculpture will be shown for some time on the Piazza Walther in Bolzano.
Pope John Paul II was a great Pope! He visited also South Tyrol in July 1988 and celebrated a Holy Mass in the Pilgrimage monastery Maria Weissenstein/Pietralba.

More informations about the beatification of Pope John Paul II on Wikipedia.

Flower market 2011 in Bolzano

Piazza Walther transformed for two days into a gardening.

Yesterday and today we had a nice flower market in Bolzano. This flower market is organized every year by the florists and the young gardener, and is a great opportunity to admire the new flowers and to buy something for the own garden or home.
