Every year on the last weekend in June the Martell Valley celebrates the strawberry festival. The festival represents the traditional start of strawberry picking in the highest mountain-strawberry cultivating area in Europe.
Here a few pics I took last Saturday, June 23, 2012.

OMG, I've never seen so many strawberries in one place before. They look so sweet.
This looks fantastic!
Ours are not quite ready to eat yet.....
wow, impressive and yummy :)
That is a LOT of strawberries. Makes me wish I had more than blueberries in my refrigerator!
St. Petersburg is only about 30 miles away from the strawberry fields here in Florida and we, too, have a Strawberry Festival. That is one BIG strawberry shortcake you have there! Looks so yummy! We do ours with a sweet biscuit.
You got some great shots and now I'm hungry for some strawberries. When I was there at the end of May, I ran into a Cherry Festival in one town. The cherries looked so delicious that we bought a bag!
That is the largest strawberry tart I've ever seen. Would love to participate in this festival. Good thing we are having fresh strawberries for dessert tonight.
That looks Yummy!! Great photos.
I LOVE strawberries. This festival is made for me.
So many luscious strawberries Karl, they make beautifully vibrant images.
A feast for the eyes!
I can imagine the fantastic smell there must be of all those beautiful strawberries, and the taste must also be fabulous. Certainly one of my favourite fruits, so perhaps it's good that I'm not there because I'd have to eat a lot!
