Roman Legionary


This giant statue of a Roman legionary was created and installed 1904 in Ortisei / St. Ulrich / Urtijëi by the sculptor and artist Johann Baptist Moroder (20 February 1870 – 24 May 1932).

That's so well done...looks like it was cast from a mold of a real legionaire. And done by John the Baptist no less! :)
