I thought of VP and the benches when I opened your posting today!:) The old bench is what I wish I could find for our new (old) place where we are moving to soon. The new one is trendy and would have been perfect many places. Looks so pretty where you are. Enjoy it!
Give me the comfortable back rest on an old bench any day. The new one may be good for sleeping or or exhibiting in a museum but golden oldies need something higher. Its hard enough getting up from something higher. I'd love to sit on the first one against the sun warmed wall.
Between the newcomer and the old benches is a big difference. The old ones are in the lush surrounding and the new one is in the modern. Hmmm ... I like more the old benches.

This post is a VP heaven post! The newcomer looks... so new. So low.
I would say the older ones have more appeal but they are all in such pretty surroundings.

"... and a slab"? Interesting contrast !

I hope the others have welcomed this sleek new addition.
I'll take them all, but the last one is very, very strange!
It appears to me that the old benches with backs would be more comfortable that this modern slab on which you have no way to lean back and relax.

I do love the sleek newcomer. But my weary body likes a bench with a back.
Not what I would have expected. The newcomer is a work of art, but not at all comfortable seating. Give me the old benches any day.
