Paintings on the wall of the Cathedral of Bolzano

This post is linked to Monday Mural.

  1. This is really one of the most beautiful mural ever.

  2. Indeed a very nice mural for easter and a perfect example for the murals on the houses in our part of the world.

  3. A belated Happy Easter Karl. Tom The Backroads Traveller

  4. I am also interested in the small mural next to the Crucifixion. What is its significance?

    1. Hi Kate, it took me awhile to find out this... It represents the pilgrim named Ulrich who is hit by a bell.

  5. More artwork than mural...

  6. I find the piety, e.g., the angels and the halos, represented by such murals or artwork, to be most interesting. It is certainly an appropriate mural for a cathedral.

  7. Invites meditation. Do you have an idea of its age? Thanks, Karl, for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.

  8. The painting is beautiful in its simplicity.

  9. Quite large, I think, and I like the look of it.
