Bolzano celebrates the beatification of Pope John Paul II

Pope John Paul II on the Piazza Walter/Waltherplatz in Bolzano/Bozen.

To celebrate the recent beatification, some members of the group of artists UNIKA carved a wooden sculpture of Pope John Paul II. This oversized sculpture will be shown for some time on the Piazza Walther in Bolzano.
Pope John Paul II was a great Pope! He visited also South Tyrol in July 1988 and celebrated a Holy Mass in the Pilgrimage monastery Maria Weissenstein/Pietralba.

More informations about the beatification of Pope John Paul II on Wikipedia.

Very nice. And they gave him an interesting crosier.
I am happy that Blessed Pope John Paul II will soon be a saint.

It is lovely! I always loved him, especially since my ancestors were Polish.
