Törggele Time


Törggelen (or Törggele party) is the South Tyrolean tradition, in the fall, to take a meal in good company with roasted chestnuts, must (“young wine”), called "Siaßer", or new wine called "Nuin" and eventually Krapfen. As a main meal with pork dishes, Surfleisch, sauerkraut, various sausages (blood sausage and house), dumplings.

There was a South Tyrol stall at a recent food fair here and I was lucky to try some of these delicious specialties!
