Hard work on the slopes. Good that there are many hands.
I remember those long wooden rakes from when we made hay at the Swiss monastery. Nice memories.
Looks like you need good leg muscles and good balance to harvest this hay.
I like the way you captured the people on the ridge, set off against the distant mountain for a background.
Great composition of a fantastic setting!
Amazing scenes: things get more complicated up there!
I find it amazing and touching that hay is mown the old fashioned way. Saw a similar scene in Grindlewald and it remains a favorite memory.
I wouldn't mind working with that view!
I'll bet it's like everyplace else; you gotta make hay while the sun shines! What a sight. I've worked on the back end of a hay baler - not fun. This looks like hard work but more fun. Of course, I'd probably stumble and roll all the way down the mountain!
Karl, these are breathtaking! What a place to work. What hard work.
Amazing working environment Karl, I guess you just get used to being surrounded by such beauty..I'm sure I'd be stopping every five minutes and soaking in that view!
I was engaged in harvesting hay on flat terrain, but I had no idea how this can be done in the mountains!
These photos are totally amazing!
Great images!
And the location is perfect!!
What a view!
As a city girl, I never knew people harvested hay by hand! Learned something new and enthralled by your images - love the contrast of the colors of the people, the grass, hay, etc. against the almost b&w mountains in the background - wonderful!
