Ferragosto (August, 15) is a public holiday in South Tyrol, as in whole Italy.
Wiener Schnitzel, polenta with chanterelles and sausage, grilled chicken, grilled pork chop with potato salad, goulash with polenta, sausage with bread, pommes frittes...
Often a tent is issued because the weather is not always safe.

I see many happy faces !
Happy Ferragosto. Your photos are fun. But it is not what I was used to in Jerusalem, where August 15 is emphasized (by the Christians) as the day of the Assumption of Mary.
I'd like a plate of that grilled chicken!
Looks like the girls are dressed as they should during the festivities.
Reminds me of October Fest. All that food! You'd probably have to carry me home!
I'll have the polenta with chanterelles and sausage. Sounds delicious.
The first photo is and I love the atmosphere of the others. I also like practically every food you have named.
Very undressed for Our Lady in the Forest... :-)
Very nice shots.....good post.
greetings, Joop
It's so nice to see things from other countries, Karl.
Thank you for sharing. Lovely atmosphere in your photos!
Warm greetings from Denmark,

The menu sounds pretty tasty! Dancing, too, perhaps?
I enjoyed the first photo. Those girls are wearing leather pants, which I thought only men wore. See how much I learn from you?
I've been once in that kind of the beer tent in Munich. It was a big one.
I did not know that leather pants are still used. :)
Nice fotos, really.
Yes, sure!
A tent is always a good idea Karl :) looks like fun times!
